Overview

The Situation

The educational system in the country continues to turn graduates who actively seek out employment rather that aspire to set up their own business and thus create employment for themselves and others. Business schools in both the national and regional levels have scarcely been successful at the task of preparing the young for future business careers. Thus, the young business student is prepared for employment rather than being an employer or eye junior managerial positions in the corporate ladder only to find out in the end that there are no corporations as big or as stable in the local business community where their trainings and learning’s are adoptable. This then leads to frustrations and acceptance of meager jobs which collectively leads to the regression of the local economy and stagnation of the business development for the community.

Faced with this factual circumstance, OUR LADY OF LOURDES COLLEGE FOUNDATION, College of  Business Administration envisions to. . .

Vision

Produce graduates whose business foresight is anchored on Christian values who will work for the betterment of the self, society, environment and business community thereby achieving growth and prosperity for all.

Mission

To achieve this, it is the mission of the BSBA Department to:

1. Produce graduates that will actively recognize the central role that business plays in the structure of society by initiating innovative ways to improve the quality of life of a broad community, local, national and international.

3. Produce graduates that will recognize the necessity that business people has a social responsibility to the community and country in general and will recognize the need to conserve and preserve the environment for future generations.

4. Produce graduate whose business decision and operations will be based on Christian tenets and anchored on the practice of fairness, truth and justice.

  • To inculcate entrepreneurship into the consciousness of our business students
  • To develop self-confidence in the transaction of business among our students
  • To lead and take responsibility in the business affairs of the local community
  • To make decisions objectively and confidently with the end view of the betterment of the community and the nation as a whole
  • To develop appropriate leadership qualities and behavior in oneself and in others
  • To enhance learning development in the chosen field of business specialization.
  • To share whatever expertise that the students have developed for the improvement of the business community and the community in general.
  • To develop the student’s Christian values and environmental awareness.

Message from the Dean

Business activities are so essential to the existence of the local economy to the extent that if there were no growth of business activities, the entire community will no longer exist. The local economy and the community are so reliant on business activities that the kind, quantity and quality of business activities determine whether that community will succeed or not. We need not prove the relevance and truth of this statement since it can readily be seen in progressive cities both in the country and in the global arena. It is for this reason and in this scenario that the College of Business Administration in Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation was conceived.

The programs under the Business Department or more often referred to as the College of Business Administration, has been customized to meet the needs of the local community in the back draft of the globally competitive

environment. The department endeavors to enhance the creativity, innovative thinking, and strategic planning ability of future entrepreneurs, would be policy makers and future managers who will be our graduates. The graduates of this department are specifically trained and developed for entrepreneurial activities, executive positions and not as simple employees although they have much greater advantage over their employees.

More specifically, graduates of this department will be led through the process of understanding the logic of the business and the requirements of the business to be effective. They are expected to be future leaders of the local community in the context of enterprise growth and organizational transformation.

So what are you waiting for? Let us build a community, provide a prosperous future for ourselves and the next generation, develop the country and be recognized in the global business arena.
